The Border Collie does great with children.  This breed has tons of energy and will never like just laying around in a house with nothing to do – if you are looking for that you should look at similar breeds like the Australian Shepherd and the Shetland Sheepdog.

They come in many different colors and coat lengths.  There is the traditional black and white Border Collie, and then there are the chocolate and white, tri-colored, the red and blue merle, and yellow,  which is rare.  The coat lengths are short, medium, and long hair.  The Border Collie is not recommended for apartment life.  It is generally a hardy breed.

About the Boxer

The Boxer is a happy, high spirited, playful and energetic dog.  The Boxer is known for bonding with its family and doing great with children.  These dogs are good for competitive obedience.  If raised with other pets, like cats, they will get along with them –  and also if introduced properly to other pets as well.

The Boxer is called a Boxer because of the way it uses its paws for just about everything.  The Boxer’s nature is to protect you, your family,  and your home, but known visitors will be welcomed.  They make great guard dogs. These dogs love to play ball or Frisbee and can do some agility.  This breed requires a dominant owner.
